In 2005 the company successfully competed internationally and won a UN tender worth US$7 million to supply the UN with vehicles for peace mission and monitoring in conflict areas. The Contract was renewed for another two years. During period under review, WMF factory was registered as a manufacturer in terms of the Labour Act of 2002 to be able to comply with industrial and manufacturing standards and regulations. The Mk II model participated at Vehicles Technology Test in Fort Knox Kentucky State of the USA in 2005 and has impressed top world military In 2004, WMF won a Manufacturers Tender to build Vehicles for the UN Peace Missions at value of USD 7.4million up to October 2007. The annual production capacity of Mine Protected Vehicles (MPV’s) increased from 25 units per annum to 50 units. The introduction and implementation of a Budget System with Budget Control Authority Levels enhanced internal controls and minimised risks.
